I’m Kathy Russell

“I have always had a keen eye for furniture lay out and decorating. After a long corporate career, I decided to take this gift I had and share it with others.”

After educating myself on interior design through The Instutite of Interior Design and Colour Management Program, I started my own business. I myself have lived in a number of different locations. I customized each, because their design told my story.  They we organized, functional, and reflected my personal style, all without breaking the bank.

I’ve learned that the key to any good design, is knowing where to place pieces. The pieces should be comfortable and allow you to function within the space. And lastly, your pieces tell your story and let you love your space/home.

In alignment with my own standards, I’ve built relationships with associates and vendors that care about the environment and sustainable growth.

Our Pride & Joy: Our One-on-One Approach

My success’s over the last 9 years has been from building strong, honest and ethical relationships with my clients. Working one-on-one with each client is what makes me unique. Our goal at Small Space Design is for you to love everything in your space, no matter how big or small. Your space should tell your personal story. Our home is our biggest investment, so we deserve to enjoy it and share it with friends and family!

On a personal note, I am happily married to my husband of more than thirty years. We have three grown children and 5 grandchildren. My own home is always a work in progress. I love mixing old with new. Changing it up every few years keeps iy fresh and enjoyable. A space to come home to and love it.

I enjoy being part of my community and volunteer where I can. I support Southlake Regional Health Centre, Sick Kids Hospital and I am a member of The Newmarket Chamber of Commerce. I continue to grow my knowledge through continuing education with The DDA Decorating & Design Association, of which I am an accredited member in good standing, and on-line programs through the Institute for Design.
